In Flanders Fields Museum

War and Trauma is an exhibition depicting the medical care at the battlefront during the first World war. It is made clear to the visitor that no Eurpean army was ready to take care of the large amount of casualties.

Answers are given to questions like: how were casualties treated at the battlefront during the first world war? Who did it? How were casualties evacuated?

How were soldiers suffering from shellshock? treated? Were the soldiers cowards, male hysterics or were they really traumatized? Heijemrink Wagemakers has realized the entire exhibition in good cooperation with In Flanders Field Museum and Totems Communication & Architecture.
