Municipality of Amstelveen

Over the next ten years many mobility and accessibility projects in and around Amstelveen are in the pipeline, which have turned the city upside down for a long time. This has a lot of impact on the living environment. Reason for the municipality to set up a central information center together with partners Rijkswaterstaat and the Transport Region Amsterdam, where all changes can be experienced.

The Amstelveen line will be converted, the A9 will be widened and the Stadshart will undergo a development that will affect mobility. In order to involve and inform residents and businesses as optimally as possible, the municipality of Amstelveen chooses to present all these initiatives in an inviting and interactive way – always up to date. Experience center ‘Amstelveen InZicht’ will show The making of Amstelveen from 2017 to 2025 from day to day in the next ten years.

Everything can be found and experienced: from a grass dune table where you can browse through photos and films to a time capsule that allows you to travel to the future. Through ‘fresh from the press’ live building activities will be followed live on webcams and Twitter feed.

In collaboration with the municipality of Amstelveen and Podium, Heijmerink Wagemakers has developed the outline design for the experience center into a technical design and subsequently realized the information center.

Amstelveen InZicht opened its doors in June 2017 and has been making a successful contribution to the pride of Amstelveen residents and businesses on all developments in and around ‘their’ city! ‘
